Leadership Coaching

Coaching for All Levels of School Leadership

Karmay coaches K-12 school principals, administrators, and teachers, as well as leaders at colleges and universities. Coaching gives leaders the tools to lift up and empower their teams by leading with compassion.

As your executive coach, a role that I take joyful pride in, I serve as a mirror to help you see yourself more clearly, bringing what is unconscious to your conscious mind, in order for you to see what is the root cause of the dis-ease in your professional life. I take an holistic approach, rooted in indigenous practices, to hold you through your delicate yet powerful transformations. I combine meditation, visualization, mindfulness, self-inquiry, reflective writing along with intentional guiding questions to support you in embodying the confidence, self-assuredness, and authenticity to lead your teams.

“I went in and came out with a totally different outlook on my community, my family, the education system, and all the many ways to use the school as a place of healing. I am so grateful to have been a part of this! This should be taught everywhere and to every educator.”

Amee Apedo, KIPP Infinity Middle School

Skills for Equitable and Compassionate Educators

You became an educator to contribute to your community and lift up the next generations. While the initial love and passion for working with young people started you along your journey, now you need to upskill with new learning and new techniques to take your teaching or your career to the next level.

Working with Gloetry can help you build confidence, and give you the tools to take action in your school environment. Learn to communicate effectively through compassion, connect with and work with students and peers of different backgrounds, be culturally responsive, build a safe classroom environment for all students, and create equitable classrooms where your students thrive. Learn to respond to challenging behaviors positively while avoiding alienation in the teacher-student relationship.

How Leadership Coaching Works

My role as your Coach is:

  • To be authentically curious by asking intentional questions in order to deepen your areas of growth so you can reach your desired outcomes

  • I design all of our coaching sessions based on your goals and our shared objectives. I create the structure by formulating the agenda for each session. All you need to do is show up ready, willing and open to receive and take action. Educators are already overworked, so you can rely on me to provide a structured plan and process

  • To help you gain clarity and focus about what you want and how to take action to achieve it

  • To inspire you and support you to expand your vision of what is possible for yourself

Your role as a client is:

  • To be an engaged, willing partner with me

  • To take action to meet the goals you have set out to achieve

  • To be brave and willing to look at things in a new way, which can sometimes be uncomfortable, in order to open up to new possibilities

I work best with clients who are honest about their workplace atmosphere, and their role in it, and who are ready to heal barriers between them and others.

I love working with these types of people:

  • Are already meeting with a therapist or engage in your own spiritual practices

  • Value self-development, growth and continuous learning

  • You are passionate and dedicated to promoting initiatives that dismantle oppressive structures within your communities

  • Committed to social and racial justice

  • You are already in the process of creating more connection and trust between your colleagues

We’ll be a great team if you are

  • A willing and engaged partner with me, seeking clear, compassionate, and strategic support in regaining your confidence, enthusiasm and strength to carry out the organization's diversity goals and culture objectives

  • Committed to real change at your place of learning and are open to feedback and taking action

  • Willing to get uncomfortable for your growth and for the benefit of those you impact every single day

  • Willing to see outside of your blind spots

  • Serious about taking internal inventory around your own identity, privilege and unconscious internalized hierarchical behaviors
